Texas jazz.

Texas jazz.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Some Johnnie verbal poetry. Three whiskey deep poetry.

"

Where are you Abigail? Johnnie is lonely.

Loneliness is okay.

Love rare, love sweet.

Never forgotten.

You can’t catch dreams.

Coyote drinking and dancing alone.

Dancing alone is a heartbreaking image; it would wound most people terribly. I love how you tell us, "Loneliness is okay". It displays strength, understanding and courage. We may not be able to catch dreams but we can always look back on all we experienced and smile and be thankful for the experiences we shared with others, and miss them also. So nice to watch your spoken word of the poem, too. Fine art, dear Coyote.🌷

Drinking alone is one thing. Dancing alone is something else, especially if you are in the middle of a heavily traveled street.

I love how you depict both the deep longing we feel and also that we can be okay in the longing - holding the grief - both comforted and saddened by our memories. Sometimes I even find myself wanting that mix of emotions as a connection to what once was. Welcoming the soft edged pain (for some it is still jagged), but also conveying that in that pain I am holding something beautiful. And I'm still okay even if what happened doesn't FEEL okay.
This poem just brought that mix to mind and I love how you briefly yet poignantly expressed it here.

Yeah completely relatable thoughts and sentiments, if one takes the time to entertain all the implications here.

I thought I'd find something different, given the title and the wannabe musician in my head jumped at the word 'jazz' yep... I found a lot of fun exercises and experiments to try in my own playing by examining jazz and blues songs.
Thank you for sharing.
Cheers

No problems, it was worthwhile.
Drinking and dancing alone but not alone in his thoughts and memories.
Better to miss a love than to forget it.
Truly, we can't catch dreams, we have to wait for them to come to us.

You are welcome, dear Coyote.
Ah, so you're solo dancing! And lonely as it often is...."but that's okay".... as long as love is nearby...
Says so much in a short piece, love it!!
