A few drinks with Amanda..

A few drinks with Amanda..

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

September poetry number twenty-seven.

"
I want to drink whiskey with Amanda..
Beautiful Amanda wanted to drink with Leonard Cohen and
I want to listen to her and to drink the whiskey with her.
I want to hear hear voice and
I would ask her.
Please tell me a story.
Tonight I am drinking alone and
I am drinking the cheap whiskey.
The cheap whiskey, make me wishy washy.
I have fallen down and I don't want to talk no-more to anyone.
Dear Amanda Shires, I do adore.
I would beg for a song.
Maybe a love song?
I know, I am just making a foolish wish and
I know.
Wishes, sometimes all we have.
I won't lie.
I would like to had shared a drink with Leonard Cohen.
I wouldn't talk and be so honored to listen to the poet of song.
Tonight I am listening to dear Amanda.
I told the night.
Thank you for the beautiful song birds.
We do need them.

I am continually fascinated by the way you use language. It is a gift few possess.

Thank you Winston. I appreciate the comment.
I too love Leonard Cohen and your line with songbird reminded me of one of his first great songs, bird on a wire. Thank you for the memories.

Though not classified as an hymn, Cohen's "Hallelujah" qualifies as such for me.
