Bad behavior.A Poem by Coyote PoetrySeptember poetry number eleven.Bad behavior.. Loveliest lady in Port Austin. She waited for no-one on the long pier into Lake Huron. I adored her auburn hair and her wild hazel eyes. She would find me sitting alone watching the Lake Huron dance at the end of the pier. She would bring me a cold beer and we would share a bottle of the Black Velvet. She told me often. I don't like desperate men, I hate the begging men. Johnnie, Johnnie. Can you see me? We sat on the pier, almost a month and you would say, hello. And you left me be. You and me, we love the picturesque Lake Huron and you taught me how to drink the soldier favorite drink. The Black velvet. How did you know. I needed the quiet? I told her. Dear Amanda, I fancy the auburn gals with the wild hazel eyes. And I knew. You were seeking something, you had to find. I come to Port Austin to write and the quiet. The people are kind here and they ask few questions. I was glad I found your art studio and you requested to paint my old face. You were happy to paint my face on the pier. She smiled and she told him. I came to Port Austin in the early Spring. I loved the stormy nights and the wild Lake Huron. I have sin and I have sin, some more. My bad behavior made me seek solitude. I have killed many with my so-call love. I found you alone in the late Spring and you loved the silence and Lake Huron, more than me. I saw the million sins in your face, I saw the million tear that you had befell. I am glad you befriended me and I loved that you would listen to me. I told her. We are like the Spring flowers. They sleep and they awake every new Spring. Our heart need a Winter. We need to rest and we must try to find reason and purpose. Dear Amanda, you love to create beauty unto canvas and the artist, like the writer. We love to create and we are not so good, at love. Once I was a soldier, once I was a drunk and once, I was a businessman, who made millions for the rich people. Now my bad behavior led me to Port Austin to know peace. I learn I had enough and I didn't need anymore. She smiled and she took my hands. She told me. Thank you Johnnie for befriended me. Now I have a friend, a dance partner and sometime to watch the Lake Huron with. We been together since early June. We drink coffee, we discuss our work and you make me feel. Adored. You don't steal from me and I willingly give my heart and body to you. I told her. The Winter is coming dear Amanda. I hope I can keep you warm in the days of the Port Austin Winter. Lake Huron become madness in the Winter. You could create the masterpiece of the dangerous and dancing lake. She reached over and she kissed me. She whispered. We found our safe haven. Please stay with me. Coyote
