Your face..A Poem by Coyote PoetryJuly poetry number nineteen.Your face... I brought her close and I told her. Honey, you will be alright. We will figure something out. Her eyes were less sad now and she told me. Thank you Johnnie for listening. I needed someone to listen to me. I told her. I have liked you for many years. My grandchildren and your children been going to the same bus-stop for five years. She laughed at my words and she told me. I am becoming ugly and so tired Johnnie. Once I was a beauty and now the lines on my face, regret in my eyes make me feel so damn old. Somedays can be so hard. I told her. You are not ugly, you are beautiful Amanda. I love your face. I see a million journeys in your eyes. I kissed her forehead and I touched her auburn hair. You are more beautiful today than yesterday. You have became a strong woman. You are raising three children alone and you are still standing on two strong legs. You have been a delight for me for many years. I like you a lot. You talk to me non-stop. All of us need a kind voice to tell us. We will be okay. She smiled and she told me. Flattery will get you everywhere Johnnie. You have been my kindest friend. You are kind to my children and you accept me when I am wild and crazy. When I need the comfort of a kind friend. You listen to me. I do appreciate. I hugged her and I told her. New world is hard and all we can do is our best. Your children are smart and strong. You are a good mama. You taught them well. We must find something good everyday and ensure our children are safe and sound. She laid her head into my shoulder and she whispered. Thank you. Coyote
