One tin soldier...A Poem by Coyote PoetryJuly poetry number sixteen...One tin soldier... 1- The color of red, the color of blue and the color of white on my flag. Each color hold great meaning. "White signifies purity and innocence; red, hardiness and valor; and blue signifies vigilance, perseverance, and justice." Our USA flag stand for freedom and opportunity. Many had fought and died for the Red, White and Blue. Today we must ensure. We do not give our freedom away my friend without a fight. 2- She told the whiskey drinking soldier. Your wars are over. She held his hands and caressed his face like a beloved child. Dear Molly Malone stole his heart. She loved John Donne books, she loved John Dryden books and she loved John Milton. She told him. Myth and tale shall be forgotten, but the poet's song. Forever remembered. A poet's heart, a soldier's heart, just seeking memories to write down. You and I. Used and abused, and we outlived the evil men. Maybe you and I will find the sea, drink less, love more and dance everyday. He told her. Beautiful Molly, we discuss old words and I believe, we need to create new ones. Do you believe, we can write a lullaby where love can win? She gave him a hug and she held him close. She whispered. We have tonight, maybe tomorrow? I do believe, we can create a song where a soldier and Molly Malone danced by the sea and they knew happiness for a second. 3- She asked for another kiss. He told her. Kisses are costly and kisses can be dangerous. One kiss can make the heart want more, make us need many kisses. She smiled and she told him. Never turn down a kiss, kisses are miracles, where two people find comfort in the softness of lips touching. We shall remember every kiss my dear friend. Coyote © 2022 Coyote PoetryAuthor's Note
