Only love can hurt like this..A Poem by Coyote PoetryJuly poetry number fifteen.Only love can hurt like this.. Did he pursue her? Or did she pursue him? He was wise and he knew. The women decide the beginnings and the endings. Fa-la-la-la-la, we sang to the rising moon and the dancing stars. He sought her in the Spring of 1992 and she told him. Perhaps dear Johnnie, mistress love was calling our names. Her bright beautiful eyes promises him everything and nothing in the same glance. He told her. You are more beautiful than the sea and a mystery of so many wonders. He loved to hear her speak and she would look deeply into his eyes. Asked him. Will you be kind to me? He told her. I will never hurt you my sweet friend. She laughed at his words and she told him. Maybe a dance? maybe we can share some laughter? Maybe we can be brave and maybe we can allow love into our life. Let's find the sea and drink some sweet red wine. Let's pray for a happy ending. Coyote
