The battlefield...

The battlefield..
Do the children of war, dream?
In Ukraine, Russia killing off cities.
Where do the families run to?
I saw the people of war,
their eyes,
like old soldiers.
They ran from death and they know death is near.
Soldiers dance with death,
it was their decision.
But what do we tell the children?
Their home is destroyed and hateful men want to kill them.
The battlefield, the blood and escaping to the unknown.
This shouldn't be the life of a child.
Where are the teachers of peace?
The man of war screams heard above the hope of peace.
What do tell a child, when everything is lost.
Maybe men are too greedy? maybe men are too hateful?
They cannot see the children bleed, they cannot see the children die?

This is so touching, Coyote.
It is beyond tragic to think about children living this way. It is hardly a life at all.
Children deserve to dream in safety and grow up in safety.
It is beyond unfair to deny them of that.......
It so sad to think that some don't grow up with that. Maybe some of them never had it.
Innocence is by far the most precious virtue. It needs to be protected and guarded by adults, but then.... it is the adults who take it away. It is the adults that do the war mongering. They are the ones that spread the hate and some of them even teach it to their children.
This is a really great work, 99.

Not only do the children of war die, if they live they may be mentally and spiritually crippled. I cannot imagine what is in the minds of men who subject children to the horrors of war. A very strong anti-war statement here, C. Wish Putin could read it.

I agree Dave. We have fell into madness. Thank you for reading and the comment.
Oh, Coyote, this one gave me chills. Beautifully written. I read it while the music was playing....perfect choice I might add...and what an affect it has. In the case of Ukraine, I would venture to say it is greed causing the ruckus. The crazy guy wants the minerals that Ukraine can offer plus, he just wants all the land under his control. That's my 5 cents worth :) Very nicely done my friend. Temp
