Our children..

Just photos of beautiful children and wonderful teachers. I pray the teachers who protected the children. Are with them still.

1- Little children..

Beautiful faces, fearless faces. The little children want to have some fun and enjoy life. Now 19 children were murdered in a classroom. I have five grandchildren and everyday, I send them off to school. I told my youngest. Fight or flight. Someone said is praying isn't enough. She was right. We must demand change in the gun laws. We must scream and shout against 50 men in the Senate. Today I look at the photo of 19 children and two teachers. I do pray for the parent, the grandparent, the family and the city. Something cannot be forgotten, some pain is forever.

2- Dear Eva Mireles and dear Irma Garcia....

Two strong and beautiful women tried to protect the children. They found them holding the children they taught. What were their last words to the children? Teachers in the school blocked the doors with their bodies. Willing to accept bullets for the children they loved, they taught. What is our world becoming? Dear Eva and dear Irma, I pray the children are at their feet . Teacher, a honored word. 

3-  50 men in the Senate say. The guns are not the problem. Thousand of school children are marching together against the weak gun laws in the USA. if they passed the bill for stronger I.D checks and age limit two years ago. Today two teachers and nineteen children would be alive still. Maybe if us parents, grandparent and adult stand as one. Vote out the NRA supporters. Make our world safer for the children and all people. Over 200 mass killings in the USA this year. When will the USA have enough?

It is a sad thing that such weapons are available to those that are ill prepared to use them. Besides making them unavailable to such individuals society needs to promote proper parenting and detection of those who are disturbed and capable of violence by any weapon.

I know it is legal, but I don't know how a gun dealer can sell full body armor and an arsenal that slices right through protective armor police are provided with, and then go home at night with a clear conscience.

Thanks for writing. Is it possible that this new outrage is outrageous enough to spur action? We have all been writing about it. I wish an army of poets could march to the capital and recite our songs. Something different has to happen and if we poets could elicit tears in the hardened, frozen hearts of the senate we could get busy on the main problem ... Insanity!

I so feel for the lost, innocent children and their bereaved parents. I hear the news with helplessness and distress over the causes and lax gun laws. I do believe we should ban assault weapons and limit the age of possession. . I'm not against guns in general , but we need to limit access to minors and keep an eye for their mental, psychological and any abuse they incurred in their life.
People kill other people but guns can be tools in that objective. Long subject. You did justice in this wonderful memorial poem to those victims. I know you worry sometimes about your family whether children or grands to become victims of this phenomenon.

A subject my heart couldn't bring me to write about... this was such an unbelievable act of violence, against the most unsuspecting population. A child just wants to know joy... that monster did everything he could to teach them pain and suffering. As you said, it's up to us to secure change, and teach them justice instead! A beautiful and sad tribute dear Coyote. Pictures hurt the heart. Tragedy after tragedy occurs, our children are slaughtered, and greed literally calls all the fatal shots. Yes I stand in agreement with your always wise words- together we must vote these power brokers out! They have sold their souls to the devil and they are paying him with our children’s blood. I just hate this!!!!
We moved from California to Texas for 10 years to be nearer our grandchildren... The gun laws are way too lax in Texas...
Recently moved to Spain where this sort of thing just doesn't happen...
Although I do not want to... I force myself to look at each child... The pain the parents must feel ... the anger...
The thought that there have been over 200 mass killing in the United States this year boogle's the mind..
