We learn with old age. Love is everything. I was babysitting my grand-daughter. Now 18 months old and I would spend the days with her. Five days a week. The park, children places and we would dance to songs together in my home. She loved her music.
She loved only her grandpa. She was my go-go girl. She loved the library, the mall and dancing songs. Now she is gone for two months. My once life with her is gone and I miss her so.
I saw in her eyes. She knew she was my joy, my reason to be alive. Today I drink alone and I miss my dancing baby girl. I learn with my five grandchildren. Love is everything. We are what we leave behind. I am retired and I still work to ensure I can make my grandchildren life better.
A grandfather life is simple. Create a place where the grandchildren can have fun and be free of the parent rules. Today I am so sad and I know. Time does go by quickly. I know. Love can break your heart.
I have 8 grandchildren...and everyone of them is dear to me, unfortunately not near to me. There is nothing greater than watching them grow. And because we are aging, time seems to fly too fast... we want to see them more often and learn form their small wisdom. We show them love and want them to remember us as loving, caring grandparents. I can empathize with this poem so much, just lovely.
Best, B

Precious is the time we have with our grandchildren. I am so fortunate. I have my three living with me and one day they too will fly the nest, but they don't seem in a hurry to do so yet. Your little Mia reminds me of my great grandson little Jahkai. I didn't see him for five months last year and had no idea how he was. That broke my heart. Fortunately that situation is resolved. I have his Dad living at home and we see Jahkai now every other weekend. He is an absolute delight and joy. Coyote you write with such love for your grandchildren, and I understand that so much. Thank you for the gift of your words.

Thank you, dear Chris. With old age. We learn what is important.
Such a sweet write Coyote. As of yet I have no grandchildren but do spend a fair bit of time with a good friends grandson, he is two and a half years old. We have the best of times larking around until we both tire and need a nap :))
Hope you are well and time passed quickly so that you are reunited with the wee one
