Nothing left to lose...

Nothing left to lose...

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

One of the great songs. Taylor Momsen, she can sing...

"

Nothing left to lose….

I lay in the silence of deadening silence. All dreams dead and buried when you left me alone. You were my savior and my killer. I remember the first kisses, drinking and smoking cigars. We laughed at life and tomorrow was just another day to be lived.

I remember you stripped down to bare skin and danced upon the October Pacific sea shore. I knew the Gods of the sea and I was blessed to watch you dance.

I knew you were the November breeze. Just touched our skin and disappear to unknown places, leaving old men with wishes and songs to be sang.

I sit alone on the Seaside beach. I write words and sing lonely song. Me and the sea cry and wish to see your beautiful face and your perfect nude body dancing for us. Life had took it toll. Old men wish and young men try.

I told the young Poet. I have nothing left to lose. Love is the best sensation, leaving the essence of things we cannot hold again. Sometime accepted limbo is safe and sound.

I told the moon and the sea. I loved her. I did.

'You were my savior and my killer." There is so much in those words. Such loss, such pain. You paint a picture of more than lost love. There is longing and grief and the shadow of mortality. I can say in all honesty... there is an amazing life out there when you have healed from love's wounds. Freedom treats me better than any partner I ever had.

As they say "Better to have Loved and Lost...rather to have never Loved at all"
Painful, heartfelt..and yes many of us are getting older.
Old men wish and long men try..love that line..so so true..
I swam naked in the Pacific Ocean.. those were the days...
Missed but not forgotten.

My pleasure!
When I was young I thought I was immortal and had nothing to lose. Now that I'm old, I know I'm not immortal and I have plenty to lose. But I don't fear for myself, just those I'll leave behind that I love. Those responsibilities can be a savior if we let them. A fine write here. F.

Thank you dear friend. I hope have many more years to dance on the earth.
Beautiful. There are usually one or two lines in a poem that grab me but this one had many. Each strikes deep to the soul. Very well done.
