The human touch.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"The easiest gift to give is concern, time and to listen. In a world of fast pace and little time. We must slow down and show the people we love and need them."

                       The human touch….

People can get lost. They feel they are alone. They are blinded to reasons to be alive and go forward. Many ways to find dead-ends in a life. Lost love, isolation from the people we love and need. Bad times and locked doors of opportunity.

We can get scared. Fall down and can’t find the way to hope. Some folks can find peace and salvation in prayer. Some of us need kind words and a helping hand. I believe we have forgot the old way. The human touch. We forgot how to listen and pay attention to the people around us.

Some people  find peace in silence. Salvation in self-pity. Living and dying alone. They forgot the joyous dances in the light of love and life. Their bleeding heart leaving little of one person life lived. Some battles are a constant struggle.
They are lost before they were started.

We need the old ways. Where neighbors talks to each other. When people had long conversation about anything. Where laughter was easy and time for friendship. Is part of our life.

The human touch. A free hug. A shared joke. Showing concern for someone in pain. I believe the world is moving too fast. No time for concern. We forgot kindness, we forget how to talk to each other. We must slow down.

Stop and communicate. Ask real questions of concern. Because we care for friends and family.

I like when  a stranger shared a smile and a hello. Simple gifts we can give freely. Can change  a day for another person. Kindness birth hope. Love bring life to the dead in dreams and in spirit.

We must slow down and have concern for the world around us. The human touch is needed for us to know peace in our life.

hi coyote
been glancing through some of your pages to find a story where the's no drinking, self-pity or remorse.

i totally agree with you "The human touch. A free hug. A shared joke. Showing concern for someone in pain."
I think mobile phones & the internet, whilst very convenient has made people more remote towards each other, & I include myself here... i don't like talking on the phone, although I've long been retired I resent phone calls, so I never answer the phone, I feel it's it's an invasion of my time.
not good I know. but a phone call is minutes of my time lost forever. 'cos after the call has finished the conversation has mostly been forgotten. better to write an email or a letter which can be re-read whenever you want to reminisce.

The human touch, it is soft and delicate and one that should be appreciated. I really enjoyed this.

Thank you Simba. The coronavirus world should of made our world better. It didn't.
I completely agree Coyote. I never left a patient I cared for as a nurse without human contact. A hand hold goes a long way, a back rub, a foot rub, a story, listening-a skill in itself, a phone call to a loved one to reassure them but with gentle honesty in the end stages of life or even cry with them which admittedly I did often though we were taught not to and that never stuck for me. It spilled out in my everyday life, kindness that is, it can be emotionally challenging but worth it, even when they are cruel, it doesn't help to be cruel back, in fact harmful to the soul. No matter how gut wrenching my days could be it was worth it. I miss it but I still spread the love and cheer when needed. I think people are overwrought with life, it's complicated and we become cocooned in it and forget to live outside of it with purpose other than our own, that's a lot for most but keep spreading the word as will the rest that agree, it comes around to us in the end. thank you for such a beautiful write of heart and soul. HUGS!

you're welcome ;)
Last weekend a friend my age stopped by to visit & it felt like a tsunami was unleashed as she unloaded a million problems along with all her feelings of upset. I was amazed that she would be walking around every day with all this TON OF S**T weighing her down. There was nothing I could say to help her let go of any worries. All I could do was listen for hours. Sometimes that's the best thing to do (((HUGS)))

Thank you dear Kerra. We need to slow down our world.
Well ... you know I love you guys at the cafe. It is a place for us special breed. It is also amazing how so many of us have splintered off and then come back. Community and care between so many that have never even met.

It's is a beautiful thing and so is this write.

This poem is spot on ..the old ways are
definitely the best ways..a kind word
a smile a free hug ..the human touch
of bygone days..the pandemic has us
all walking on egg shells 6 ft apart
behind masks..people who need people
but not lucky or so it would seem ..we lost
the all important human touch..were all
like ghosts crying in the wind..nice work

Thank you dear Fran. We need the old ways. When neighbors help neighbors.
Amen, brother. That is the absolute truth. This pandemic we went through took a large part of that away from our society, but truth be told it had been slowly eroding before that. We need to feel empathy again and believe in one another respectfully and with kindness. Thank you CP for this honest assessment of what we are lacking in the world right now.

Nicely expressed, we are living within a cold society these days, but at times People do surprise me and love still shines, its just harder to see in the world today. I keep hoping for good changes, but have not seen that much as people have become cold. ;-]
