Blood and wine.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"Life teaches us many things. Sometime we must fight for the good things in our life."

                     Blood and wine…

Most of us are just dancing on the edge. Taking what we need from life and escaping like a thief in the night.

Love and hate is tossed around like a game of Chess. Where the game was fixed before it was started. A skill chess player played with their prey. Before he take their king.

Jesus turn water into wine. He told us to love the children. To love each other. We are all brothers and sisters. Learn to forgive, not kill.

Our world swim in blood. Everyday a thousand tears for the innocence being murdered. Brother’s killing brother’s in the Middle East. Women being abused in Afghanistan. Losing more than their freedom. Starvation killing millions in Africa still. One in four are going to sleep hungry in the land of milk and honey.

Blood and wine are not the same. Lucky Devil had no job. Greed of man had left the demons with no function.

I pour the wine. Blood come out. Hard to understand the desire of man? We are led by Berserkers. Desire blood over sweet wine.

I hear the leaders. Serenading us the blood song. They tell us. What is done is done. Need blood for blood. A eye for a eye.

Most people are benumbs by lies. They believe war is the answer. When all we have is terror. What is left of human kindness?

Today a girl of seventeen told me. Had to escape her country. Fear of death. Schools are not safe. What have we become?

Jesus turn water into wine. Could Jesus change blood into sweet wine of hope and peace?

I’m not dead yet and you are alive. Do you want your child to be a Soldier? Learning to kill at eighteen before he learn to love and enjoy life.

I follow my father’s path. I went to war, I saw death. I’m tire. Tire of war.

Blood and wine is this song. Need to silence the Berserkers.

A long time ago. A nice lullaby for us kids. Soldiers would not fight. War ended.

Jesus loved the children. He wanted us to know love and how to forgive. If no-one will turn the other cheek.

The mad men will lead us to a dead-end road.

Old Poet is tire. He want one day of peace before he is gone. Not for my sake. For the sake of all children.

Thank you for reading.

This is very deep and has a bit of an edge to it. Again I’ve noticed you have a clever choice on words. The poem pulls me, in its own unique way. I can tell the set up is to grab the readers attention. There is a lot of words carefully placed to keep me going till the end. It’s an intriguing read. I like it!

Excellent message. Children today are cheated from our simple childhood. Not to mention they have grownup to fast exposed to grownup ways to young.

I agree dear Cherrie. Always been. Thank you for reading and the comment dear friend.
i hear you old soldier :( ... War marks everyone .. no matter what side .. no matter if we felt the fear and dread and blood of battle or not .. it is a horror which no one desires .. it is a hard thing .. for people as a Nation to turn the other cheek when the one slapping is testing our resolve .. our strength .. i fear Nations would soon find out where that leads .. a slap first .. then a fist .. then all in and a people are enslaved .. weapons are confiscated .. opposition removed etc etc. .. allowing abuse not only debases the victim .. but the abuser as well .. sometimes one needs only to strike a bully once to put an end to their abuse .. they are after all cowards in character .. frightened little things .. your write is very emotive says i ... i empathize with your tired soul John .. imagine how sad Jesus Christ must feel .. suffering us for all these millennia ..thank you for pouring out yourself .. right here at the Cafe' ... a moving, thought provoking honest poem .. especially like the reference to Jesus as He told His disciples to "Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God." .. thinking of you sir!

I see a smart brain behind these written words dear friend.

True, evil is there, it has been always there, those who serve it, serve , blood, death, ugliness, and unnecessarily wars because sometime we have no option but to fight against it with all our might. unfortunately it becomes stronger and humanity stands in the angle. Children are pure love, are honesty and truth, are life and joy, are the fountain, not stained by any of these negativity.

strong and a most needed write, thank You for sharing my friends.

Thank you CP for these powerful words and commentary on the state of the world we live in. We are creatures of evolution yet we regress when it comes to showing empathy for one another. Our greatest heroes preached non violence and brotherhood and yet we fail to live like them. Those who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting a war with only love and peace as their weapon. It is in the hearts of the writers to keep their message and memory alive lest we as humanity forget them to history. Thank you for sharing these very poignant empathetic words with us in this heartfelt poem of yours my friend.

I wish all wars would end. Yes, Jesus gave, he never took....we could learn a lesson from that...

and it feels much richer to give than to receive... I firmly believe that and find it to be rather true.
