I need a Spring time kiss, a Summer love.

I need a Spring time kiss, a Summer love.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Remembering, maybe?

"
I need a Spring time kiss, a Summer love...
I need a Spring time kiss, a Summer love.
I wonder if love was ever real for me?
I asked the rising moon, my dearest love, I remember you, were we?
just myth and tale on my weary heart. Maybe just a dream?
I am very old and I accepted less,
once brave heart is sleeping and in sweet dreams.
I hear you whisper to me.
"Our two hearts are one sweet Johnnie.
You stole my heart In April and I remember our Spring time.
We danced by the lake and we talks and we talks.
You listen to me, you made me feel I was important.
I listen to you and we made forever promises.
You made me believe love is so sweet and I love you my sweetheart.
We had a loving Summer,
I remembered we never left the house on the weekends.
I remember you taught me to dance.
One, two, three, one, two, three, one."
Now I listen to the Nightingale song and I remembered we traveled to Basel.
Drank the sweetest wine all days and we roamed the beautiful city.
You were my Scottish dream and I was your Hemingway.
Dear Sheena, we tasted love, we were so damn brave. You were the most beautiful woman I ever seen.
You were so kind to me. I pray I was kind to you.
Now the poet had his Great lakes,
he had his memories.
He had learned,
you can never return to where you left.
Once he was drunk in love with a sweet lady and
he lost her in the tide of the sea, the tide of time.
He told the Lake St Clair,
please send me a Spring time kiss, a Summer lover.
Please make me believe love is kind, love is sweet.
I promise this time, I will listen more,
buy more flowers and we would dance for the sun, for the moon.
Please dear rising moon, send me a kind woman.
Someone to make me smile and someone to make me laugh again.

You would think in these enlightened days romance would be at the click of a button. We all know it's always more than one click though, and then Mrs Jones turns out to be the least romantic girl on the planet.
Lockdown has killed romance in its tracks. Can't even fly to the sun. Maybe 2022 will be better.

I'm convinced! Even tho we haven't had much of a winter here in Cali, I'm dying for some springtime action! It's been a grueling winter for many -- covid slaughters 3000+ of our fellow Americans each & every day! No wonder you want to leap away from such harshness & plant yourself in a fantasy from the good old days. Me too! It's hard to stay present for the present. Let's dream on & your poetry does it masterfully & enthusiastically (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you dear friend for reading and the comment. I do appreciate.
We seem so sure of love when we're in it, but a love that doesn't last - can it really have been love? Reminds me of our old and trusted phrase - better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. What if that love is unreachable, though. The standards set so high that you spend your whole life searching for it again. Is it still better to have loved and lost? Yes. I think so. In return the pain of loss is what we have to live with. At least we have the memories. The memories and poetry,

Jennifer, so pretty Jacob. Thank you for reading and the comment.
not "Just words" to me.
I wonder if I ever really was in love...if it was real or just imagined...
or was it always some kind of infatuation?
Yes, the poet has his memories...and some regrets of how he handled the situations he was in...or better yet, didn't handle his own heart very well.

Happy New Year, Coyote and may you and yours be well! Surely hope it's better than last.
I enjoyed listening to the Frank Sinatra video. Young love, so very long ago. Would we go back,
even if we could? Is it possible to have such a feeling even in your fifties? Young at heart ...
Thank you for sharing joyful thoughts.
