Come away with me

Come away with me

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

A new poem.

Come away with me....

We loved the cigarettes, the Johnnie Walker and the good songs.

You were North Dakota born, now California blessed.

I would massage your wanting skin every night and I whispered poetry to you.

“We murdered love and we wanted more.

We danced on the Monterey bay beach and we tried to touch the stars, the moon.

We were careless children, loving the sea and the Johnnie walker.

I told you. You are the bravest lady I ever known.

You make me believe,

I can be someone more, something better.

You are my ambrosia kiss,

the sweetest nectar I ever tasted.

You make love so sweet, so kind.”

You laughed at my words and you whispered.

Please come away with me,

let’s find the seven seas and touch with our bare feet,

let’s walk in the clouds in the highest mountains we can climb,

let’s drink the Scottish whiskey in Scotland.

Let’s slow dance on the San Francisco pier.

We must be brave Johnnie.

Unlock the door and open our eyes before,

we can’t.

I told her,

I would follow you to hell and back.

You show me I was okay and I wasn’t a machine.

I want long road and longer nights with you.

I want Big Sur mornings with you,

I want us to watch the moon on the Monterey bay,

rise and fall.

I need to see your morning face first thing in the morning and

I want to see your evening face every night before I find sleep.

You make me smile my lovely lady.

She brought me closer and she whispered.

You make me smile too.

"we murdered love and we wanted more"---what a great line, Coyote.
this has a dash of Johnny Rivers attached to it for me.
"Going back to Big Sur, this time I might just stay"--
you always get me "California Dreaming" with your poetry about that state.
Your writes get us there...you are vivid in how you photograph in words.
and there is such true feel to your writes...there is heart and guts in what you present.

come away with me, I thought of flying on a plane but simple now its, beer, TV and the old lady, back north east where its bitter cold, sound better in cali where its "wine, women and song, but in California its a bowl of cereal with nuts and flacks and fruits depending how you see it. but come winter or sun California is were you want to be, whether open or warm you'll get what you pay for.
thank you for sharing.

Thank you dear Rosalind. Happy New Year.
Your romantics inclinations are coming to a crescendo in this poem! Wow! So many powerful yet graceful expressions of feelings, impressions, longings. For a while I was carried away on the wave of how it used to be when young & impetuous, reckless & greedy for raw sensations. Your poem expresses a longing that reminds me of how it was for me, living all my life in population centers becuz that was where the jobs were, but all thru the decades, I dreamed of crawling into the hills when I was done with all that. And that's what I did. Whereas you express love affairs with ladies in your poems, I express my love affair with my location in mine! Thanks for sharing this bracing splash of unbridled romance (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

You blossomed in her admiration of you , lovers can do that sometimes; make you rise above what you thought you were , and then together you can conquer the world .... even without the Scottish whiskey :)
