The Waltz

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"The ocean and love create emotions and passion that stay with us forever.”

The waltz

(Was publish in small press, many moon ago.)

We were doing a waltz upon the beach.
The waves were the orchestra and
the wind was whispering a love song to us.

I tossed her into a twirl and
I brought her back to me.

By the light of the moon.
Two lovers danced the movement of freedom
 and celebrating being alive.

I whispered to her. “Marcella, Marcella, let’s make this day last forever.”

We come back to the ocean after each journey.
 The ocean keeps our secrets.

The dancing waves are always waiting.

She was as beautiful as when I first saw her
and I held her like she was my last breath.

Two shadows upon a naked beach.
Doing the dance of hope and freedom.

The cold of winter is surrounding us.
We warm each other with laughter and dancing.

Two friends, lovers  and travelers who come to celebrate being alive.
Peace for a moment for two people who love the road.

We find each other at the end of our journeys.
Two wanderers in search of peace.

I love you my beautiful  Marcella

Coyote, your poetry always sings songs of love and passion so sweetly. Once read, always remembered. The photo and imagery of lovers dancing on the beach are simply amazing. "We come back to the ocean after each journey.
The ocean keeps our secrets." How iconic and incredibly evocative are these lines. Your words wash the mind with music and salty sea spray. Brilliant, always.

This is absolutely gorgeous and powerful. The image you chose feels so nostalgic, a kind of wintry nostalgia. Such a pretty piece.
