I guess you're right. But Plath kept buttons in her pockets, little voices of resonance and that was her way of "solving something". Sometimes a clinched fist means that there's some oxygen missing and all the other contrivances of breath, however more reasonable , wont do. But this is poetry and 150 years ago only the wealthy was allowed to write it. And when they wrote it, they wrote it for an aristocracy who could dismiss the dissonance of love or compassion, hurt and victory and call it's worth expedient or resourceful. Until Whitman of course, which itself was protest poetry. My wish, my friend is like yours. That every life is needed and has purpose. And yet for every life, the same midnight moon rises.......great poem....dana

So true, words penned here are a great advertisement for humaneness. We need peace, calmness, a helping and a kind heart to listen to the voices around us. Love is the answer, very right and violence doesn't get us anything but hate, pain and loss. Beautiful lines at the end, Coyote. Thanks for writing this and sharing it with us.

You can be angry at the world around you, but that will only result in more violence.
So instead, we must be a light and be kind.
We have a choice.
Instead of hate , choose love.
" In the darkest days that are yet to come- keep hope alive and remind yourself that peace eventually replaces chaos. Even in the blackest of nights- be a light ; we have a choice.. "

Pain /emotions are unavoidable.
To feel is a part of being alive.
You do have a choice , no matter the odds.
The decision to love with no limitation.
Or to let the world and the people who hurt you change who you are .
The decision to let yourself remain the same. Or allow the projection of their cold words and harsh swings change your heart.
As always your humanity and love of nature shines through in this timely poem Coyote John. The news is filled with so much angst and bitter rhetoric as Trump and Biden sling mud at one another and the world is caught up in the madness of populist political correctness. The BLM movement seems to suggest that black people are the only ones who have ever suffered and that they possess an innocence that is a complete fiction.

How true Coyote. A raised fist is not one of unity. Spread a little love. More kindness to each other, a little goes a long way. Our world needs to have its feathers smoothed. They have been far too ruffled recently. Calm is the way to go.
A Poet and writer who love to read and write.
My pleasure is reading about the bad and good in a life.
Also to honor the Poets/Writers of the past by reading their words.
Remember .. more..
