Alone

Alone

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Just words.

"
                           Alone
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We can frolic in the sea and  be sun-kissed by the sun,
we can dance and sing to the moon and the stars,
we can be brave and allow our heart to swell with love glory.
We will  learn the parting song one day and
we will be alone.
We must forget the harsh Winters days and remember,
the sunny Summer days where we knew laughter and love.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The old man near the sea was asked by the pretty poet.
What is true wealth?
He raised his arms up to the sky and he told her.
The greatest wealth is your children,
to watch them grow like the tallest trees,
touching the clouds and the sun.
To watch them open their wings,
to learn to be brave and fly freely to their dreams.
Wealth and fancy items will one day,
teach you, you are alone with useless things.
The richest person had many friends, love near and
children at his feet.
Laughing and singing.

The old poet is a wise poet indeed. Beautifully penned and constructed like a fable, a life lesson. Our children are our riches, nothing more valuable than they. And we posses them to let them go and flower the earth someday. Your tone and your imparting of so much knowledge in your poetry is a true gift to us dear Coyote. When I first joined WC, you were the first poet I read and was inspired by. I am still reading, in awe of your work and of you. Thank you always my friend for your gift.

This is so beautiful form head to toe. Yes im saying that phrase to a poem. But even the picture is rightly chosen. Great work. Loved it.

Thank you for reading and I appreciate the comment. You are very kind.
Such words of wisdom. Material things mean nothing if you have no one to share them with. If you have children and grandchildren, you have all the wealth you need. You have them on loan until they are grown. If you are fortunate enough to have family around, you won't be lonely. People are what count in life, not possessions. Thank you Dancing Coyote for sharing wise words. All good wishes from across the pond.

not a problem
The greatest wealth is your children,
to watch them grow like the tallest trees,
touching the clouds and the sun.
To watch them open their wings,
to learn to be brave and fly freely to their dreams.

These lines are worthy of being etched in our minds forever. True wisdom. Heart touching. A great poem sir.

I love the philosophy behind your poem.. indeed our children are the future and the earth belongs to them .. nourish our children in body .. health and mind..and enjoy watching them dance /play /learn about earth and space and everything that surrounds them.. love their enthusiasm and innocence . Objects are just objects true joy is in the spirit and loving life.
Loved this thought provoking piece Coyote. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards Katrina :)

Your poem reminds me of the song...
"Those were the days my friend; we would sing and dance like there was no end..." When I saw a young woman on the street... I wanted to help her rehabilitate herself, and once again obtain virtues. We were meant to love
and be loved and bring children into the world to continue the joy of living.
Children are the "hope of the world". It is a Tradition to keep in place.
gently, Pat
