The strong and the blessed.

The strong and the blessed.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

I was taught by legends.

"
                       The strong and the blessed

Today I am a old man.
I lived in many places and I have lived many lives.
I was a businessman, I was a soldier and I was a father.
Now I am a grandfather.

In my lifetime,
I had great mentors,
great voices, who would not allow me to fall.
Almost loss a legend this week.

A man, who loved his family and he stood for the right things.
I asked God, please give me more time with our dearest friend.
Need this old man around for a while longer.

I know I was taught by the strong man, by a blessed man.
He taught me, have a wide open door for the family,
never speak negative words and lead with kindness.

We become old men,
we must become the safe house,
the kind voice.
Teach love and forgiveness.

Today I pray,
please don't go yet my father.
We need our teacher, our kindest friend, our father, our grandfather to tell us.
We will be okay.

such sincere emotions spring forth within this soulful poem..the integrity and wisdom passed down from the wise father to the next to teach the direction in which to go..we all must grow old there is no way out of it..until that final crossing over..heartfelt beautiful poetry here..

Oh my dear friend, I hear your heart in this beautiful and deeply moving poem. “I asked God, please give me more time with our dearest friend”- your father. I pray with you Coyote that God will be merciful. “Please don’t go yet my father.”- please. I have been in that place my friend. May God please bless you and your father and give you more time with him on this earth. Amen.

beautiful Coyote Man ... brings me to tears .. how we need to live the advice of our Fathers, Grand Fathers and back through time as it is given .. the way you write, John, and my reading it brings a strong feeling of connection ... so many of the "heroes" in your prose inspire me .. i notice the Coyote is Dancing!!! More fine wisdom, Coyote......

As we all know, with age comes the wisdom gained from a lifetime of experience; it is important to listen to our elders, give them our respect and take their advice and apply it wisely to our own lives, and hope the life we live is a fruitful one, and one that, in time, will be held in high esteem by the younger generations that follow us.

In my time on the cafe, your writes have always been enjoyed for the kindness and lessons that they present to the reader, and this is another one for your expanding catalogue of wisdom.

Best wishes to you and your mentor and I hope they overcome this trial that life has thrown their way. A fine write, my friend.

these are wise words in deed....the older we get, the smarter we get...and we hope to stay around long enough to impart that wisdom to others...i remember late night talks with my dad when he was still lucid...and i gained so much from just listening to his stories.
