Cigarettes and sassy

You were the most beautiful,

the most dangerous lady, I knew.

You were my angry lady,

sassy and always seeking new thrills.

I loved your dark side and I loved your sweetest kiss.

You loved the cigarettes, you loved the gin and juice.

I loved the saltiness of your skin when I kissed your neck,

I loved when you purred like a kitten in the midnight hours.

I knew I was your third favorite.

You told me often, us woman,

we need the poet’s song to make us feel good.

Stay awhile, at least till the dawn sweet baby.

I love how your writing is pumped up with a ton of feeling & sharp relevant imagery! I hate cigarette smoke & I think it's a disgusting habit, but whenever I dated someone who smoked, I always loved the smell of the cigs on his breath! One of the great paradoxes of life. Your poetry does a great job of showing human foibles & paradoxes in the ways we interact & relate & love & make love. This is what I most love about your writing & here's to much more of it in 2020! Thank you Katrina. I appreciate the comment.
You have sketched a beautiful and enticing portrait of a past love. It is with fondness that we look back on past relationships that were precious, darkness and anger and all, because there was something more to them and it was love. Happy New Year my friend.

Full of atmosphere and promise. A night of adventure and danger likely to be remembered for a life time. This love may have been too hot for some to handle. Happy New year Coyote to you and yours. Celebrate in style.

even just one night of the sultry exposure...and that leaves decades of memories...and a few smoke rings thrown in for good measure.
