Floyd Westerman - A holy man

A Poem by Coyote Poetry

 many active wars are there?

There are 10 official wars and 8 active military conflicts recognized by the United States. There are also other violent conflicts involving 64 countries and 576 militias and separatist groups.

                            Floyd Westerman-  A holy man

Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know I can see through your masks.
Bob Dylan

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed.
Dwight D. Eisenhower

Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind.
John F. Kennedy

I burn sage by Lake St. Clair. A perfect Spring day, the sun is shining bright and the blessings of Spring is here. I pray to the water, the earth and the blue sky.

Please lord of life and death.
It is 2019 and we are falling backward.
I am afraid,
I left little for my grandchildren.
My country sending guns and soldiers to struggling countries,
rich men getting richer, the poor men getting poorer.
Please lord of life and death.
Help heal the wounds of war,
protect the women, children and old people in the way of war.
Please ensure all children have food, shelter and a safe place to live.

I am no-one, just one man trying to move a mountain of hate.
We need, one by one, till all people, stand as one.

Stand as one for the sake of love.
Race, religion and color doesn't matter to the bullet, the bombs and nuclear weapons.
Once a great man said. Lead with concern, kindness and love.
Maybe if we stop and listen.
We could hear the whispers of the holy men,
who tried to teach us peace.

Dear Coyote, your words will make a difference. The universe is always heeding to love and positivity and your words are always so filled with them. Indeed, as you say here, the warmongering doesn't seemed to have stopped and every thinking and feeling citizen of this world must worry about the future generations.

' I burn sage by Lake St. Clair. A perfect Spring day, the sun is shining bright and the blessings of Spring is here. I pray to the water, the earth and the blue sky.'.. .. .. How peaceful a timely desire is that, John.

You so often write about your past loves for beautiful ladies, the comfort and need for warmth and close friendship and - each and every post has been/remains special. BUT, John, this writing is of the love and caring you have for ALL, for the need of Love and protection, worldwide. And so, dear friend, I rate this the best and highest of all your posts. War has taken so many lives over history; wasted so much money; defied a future to so many lands, so many children and.. oh much, much more. War breeds war.

The quotes you've added are 'on the nose' appropriate, the music the same. Thank you, thank you for caring. More should stand and be counted along the way.. ..

In spite of the sadness within your writing, i found the words more than precious.
A powerful poem shared! My favorite line was the last three verses. In a world of grit, people could always pick a side worth fighting for. It is only up to their moral judgement on who will they fight for.... May there be a road for people fighting for the lives of humanity.
