                                  Falling into the fire

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I saw many shades of red,
I have seen blood red in anger,
I have seen blood red skies and I have seen the land painted with the red blood of war.

Once the redness of living,
hung heavy on my heart and soul.

Today I love red, because of you.
Fire-hair woman stole my eyes,
stole my heart, made me learn.

Idyllic places need hard lessons,
need to be taught,
pretty places need gentle heart and hopeful dreams.

I read your face,
I kissed your hands and you allowed me to run my hands through your hair of fire.
You told me.

"Johnnie, Johnnie.
Listen to the echoes of living,
we are just here for a second,
make the good days linger and forget the bad days."

Falling into the fire,
falling into the eyes of hazel green,
falling into your arms of softness and realistic sweet dreams.
The color red, my blessing and my teacher.

“We are here for just a second, make the good days linger... forget the bad”. Firstly Johnny, thank you for your service... It is sweet that a beautiful woman could dance 💃 you into realizing you need love and tenderness in your life. Perhaps the northern lights can bring a peaceful feeling to your soul. truly, Pat

Thank you Mitchell. I appreciate the comment.
Love is truly enrapturing, and all encompassing. It can make you feel the seconds, forget the past, and not worry about the future. Also, good to come back after such a long time away and see a familiar name. As good as ever.

Lovely. Happy New Year!
Pffft! "Just words". Duuuuude, you captured the "feminine" characteristics of Red. It's generally thought of as a masculine color, but you set us straight.

BRILLANT wording here, and so truthful.
I enjoyed this write, I have seen red in all shapes myself.

you and me both my friend..
What a beautiful poem. That started off so sad and heart touchingly raw and passionate, let alone sincere and harsh. As you have seen war, death and hatred and greed. And then this magical lady came into your life. And changed the colour red to beauty and love and romance. To soften the blood of what you have seen before her existence.

Thank you Dawn. I appreciate your kind words.
Make the good days linger is certainly sound advice. Your words are beautiful Coyote. The red hair of your love worth remembering, while the red of blood lost in anger would be best forgotten, but impossible to do so. Wisdom abounds here.

wow Coyote Man! you used a bit of form and wrote a poem! I love it! I think this is one of your more powerful, emotive and image making writes that I have read. Super relatable! I fell for a "fire" woman myself one time ... although it didn't teach me the gentleness of love that your poem speaks to ;{ i learned not to play with fire :))))))))))) love ya Coyote! Holidays can be especially difficult for some .. i hope yours was blessed and that the coming New Year is kind to you sir! really enjoyed reading .... hope you play around more with form .... maybe even give rhyme a chance :)))))))))))
