Can you see? The truth.

Can you see? The truth.

“I was once asked why I don't participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I'll be there.”
Mother Teresa

“As I looked at the stains on the coral, I recalled some of the eloquent phrases of politicians and newsmen about how "gallant" it is for a man to "shed his blood for his country," and "to give his life's blood as a sacrifice," and so on. The words seemed ridiculous. Only the flies benefited.”
Eugene B. Sledge

“What is left after war is silence: The silence of the death; the silence of the debris; the silence of the birds! After war even the screams of sadness are silent because the pain is in the very depths of the soul!”
Mehmet Murat ildan

                                             Can you see? The truth?

The world will end with weeping and a billion tears of regret. Mankind won't go out with a bang. Not a quick death. Men will learn heavy sorrow for holding silence and not standing, as one for peace.
                            John Castellenas

The sea, the land and the sky are being murdered by men seeking profit. No concern for the gifts given to men. Don't we know. We need the blessing of the sun, the sweet taste of water to live and the land to produce food and air for us to survive. Plant a tree, don't expand,  leaving dead cities to rot. Rebuilt, not destroy.
                            John Castellenas

One people and one earth. Race, color, religion or location won't mean anything to nuclear, bio and chemical warfare.
Every child lost to war. A life lost that could of saved us all. We teach our youth to fight and kill. This is men greatest sin. We are one people and we share one planet. Every life had value. Please teach concern, kindness and love. Not revenge, hate or separation. My kind grandfather taught me. To show respect, anger is fruitless and all people are important. He told me. Listen, talk and pay attention. Better to have a hand, offering friendship than a fist causing separation.

Your words are wise indeed, Coyote. You've seen war and know it effects can accumulate over the years even after the war is over.

Great quotes from you and the others.

Thank you Ken for reading and the comment. I worry for my world. What did we leave for the children?
I don't know how anyone could express this more perfectly. You've chosen the 3 things on my mind the most these days, as I agonize over the state of the world. I can't even write a sentence becuz the agony I feel muffles it. The middle one by you is the one that really sings with brightness & truth (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Some excellent words of wisdom here, Coyote.....

As the dominant species on this planet we sure have a lot to answer for and quite often do engage in rather ridiculous pursuits such as war, all to the detriment of ourselves and the world we inhabit. With the evolution of our kind one would think we have the intelligence to learn from the mistakes of our past. As we find out time and time again perhaps we are not as smart as we think. When putting a man on Mars becomes easier than extending a hand in peace and love to our fellow man, then we seriously do have our priorities mixed up.

This was a highly original format. Very different from anything I have read on the site in my time here. Words of wisdom perhaps should be published more often. If they can change the narrow mindedness of just one person then that is a good thing.

An excellent piece of work, my friend. Very well conceived and constructed.

You are right my friend and thank you for reading and the comment. I do appreciate.
You know the truth and you write the truth so well.... I so wish you had a louder voice Johnie Coyote and people where ever they heard it, stopped to listen... Unfortunately, those who claim to have vision, are blinded by their own greed and ambition.... a brilliant, honest and well stated fact of life we got here Johnnie....... Neville
