Dear Jenn

Dear Jenn

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Just words

"

                                 Dear Jenn

---
She loved the sage.
She loved the sea .
She loved the ancient poets and '
I loved her.

---

Her wanting skin and
her perfect face left me breathless.
Her laced words.
Left her empty and alone.
And me, just a fan of a wild storm that would not know peace.

----

Her heart was broken pieces of despair and regret.
She cursed the want of love.
Her subtle heart yearn for quiet and peace.
In the deepness of the long and lonely night.
She wished love was true and the words spoken once were meaningful.

John,
That song by Dave Loggins is one of my all time favorites, one I learned and have played on the guitar and sang many times. It is, also, an apt fit for this beautiful poem's ambiance of longing and seeking to settle in peace within her soul, a place where love dwells, soothes, and embraces her pain away.
A very plaintive piece from your skilled pen, My Friend … one that touched deep and left me longing, too; and, certainly, more appreciative than ever of your excellently creative skills.
Really dig the presentation layout, too!

Thanks, John, you never disappoint! ⁓ Richard : )

I agree. I love this song. Thank you Richard for reading and the song.
You portray a woman tortured internally and who sabotages her relationships as a result of internal conflict, possibly anger and low self esteem. You tell it with such empathy Coyote.

I find the quoted lines very beautiful and very telling of the despair brought on by one-sided or unfulfilled love. I appreciate them all the more as they are so human, so us, so me.

You are welcome sir. It was a pleasure.
It is hard when we love another that sees no truth or trust in affections bestowed, some sensitive souls have seen too much to believe, I think, sigh...

John, once again you've produced a lovely piece about love. Not as long as some of your other works, yet all the more powerful for the brevity. Well spoken and well written, my friend

You have such a unique style, John - instantly recognisable, instantly heart-warming. Thank you for sharing such intimate moments with discretion and sincerity. ' In the deepness of the long and lonely night.~ She wished love was true and the words spoken once were meaningful.'

Those are definitely not 'Just words'
