Keep you

Keep you

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Just words

"

            ----
                          Keep you

I remember the day you saved me.
Your gentle eyes of hazel green saw me and
you caressed my face with your soft hands and you whispered.
"been too long dear Johnnie and you have been too sad. You need some tender loving care."

You embraced me and whispered.
"I will keep you safe my love and we will erase the bad days.
We will find the sea again and dance/drink with the sea till the old days are forgotten.
We will sing the sinner's lullaby and pray for rare and treasure place where we can be reborn."

I brought you closer and I whispered to you.
Dear Liz. Kind and sweet Elizabeth. You are my last wish to sing and dance to the sea and the night stars.
You are my gift of mercy and when you are near. My heart is brave and I believe. Life can be okay.

Two people sat together by the Lake St. Clair holding hands and watching the lake dance.  Falling into perfect silence and are content with the seconds where love is wild and free.

Not just words, Coyote...beautiful words. Tender words. Hopeful words. Loving words. I think I loved the last line best: Falling into perfect silence and are content with the seconds where love is wild and free. Perfect silence. I love that. When two people can be toegether, without the rattle of conversation as a distractor...when they can just BE, without the need to clarify, qualify, or quantify...then it is perfect. Perfect silence! Nicely done!

the best part about this and a lot of your work is that you develop a setting that is a daydream. and at the same time its pure and awake. I love the love you write about, it's so settling. You are a great writer.

dear John... there are many ways to love someone.
However, the romantic love in your poem is the essence of moonlight on a starry night. To capture that feeling in words is a gift. truly, Pat

When you said "my heart is brave and I believe. Life can be okay." Reminds me of when you and your lover first meets and how willing your heart is to jump the gun and love a new face. Awesome poem love!
