Just words

         Poetry-love, passion and meaning.
“I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart)I am never without it (anywhere
I go you go,my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling)
I fear no fate (for you are my fate,my sweet)I want no world (for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)”
E.E. Cummings

“One should always be drunk. That's all that matters...But with what? With wine, with poetry, or with virtue, as you chose. But get drunk.”
Charles Baudelaire

Who are we? What is life meanings? Does one life matter in the stew of the billions? Where shall you go when death take away the light? What will we leave behind?

“Once, poets were magicians. Poets were strong, stronger than warriors or kings " stronger than old hapless gods. And they will be strong once again.”
Greg Bear

Young Poet asked me yesterday. Why do I write? I show him my book of the greatest 100 poems. I told her. I carry this book for thirty years. I shared this poetry book with a hundred people. Each person read this small book. I believe every time we read a poem. We make the writer come alive again. My wish is to leave one poem. Worth enough to be in a book, to be read by many. Words, can be sad, beautiful and create joy, laughter and thoughts. Us writers must use the pen and paper to improve our world. Even if just with a entertaining tale.

Write, write and write some more. A silence life is a empty life.

"Just words" but ones that fill us with hope and remind is what it's like to be a poet. This is very useful to come back to every time we forget why we write. "I believe every time we read a poem. We make the writer come alive again." This is my favourite part as I too believe in this concept. I think a part of why we write is because it's a must, but also to preserve; us others, our thoughts. Like a photograph of words.

This is a wonderfully inspiring post! Thank you for sharing.

I agree Alice. I tell the artist. Their art is poetry for the eyes.

Thank you Andrew for reading and the comment. Life is our decision. To enjoy or not.
very poetic here...
many poetic words are being nicely sewed with thoughts by you. it's a very nicest thing you added some of the most valuable quotes of late-greek-vintage-writers/poets. lovely it is to read in such formats. very impressive work.

it was my favorite, and one called Radio was very touching as well
That film, that inspiration... Those words written by the greats.. more and ever.lasting inspiration. Your thoughts, your strenhth of spirit and determination... yet more inspiration.

Words are seeds... without them nothing exists; Life dies without knowing its zillion parts..

This is a beautiful post... it holds stars and moon and shines above so many others, John.

Thank you dear friend. I appreciate the comment.
I like the many somewhat scattered ideas you've pulled together here as a testimony to the writing urge. I most enjoyed the paragraph starting with "Young Poet asked me yesterday . . . " . . . becuz this is the crux of the thing for most of us . . . that someone will read us. What is writing without an audience? It's the greatest gift, for our readers to invest the time, dontcha think? *smile* (((HUGS)))

I agree and thank you for reading my dear friend.
"Us writers must use the pen and paper to improve our world. "

this is very sweet - you want to write to impact people, not to make yourself feel better for gluing words together in a pretty manner; i feel this mentality is the reason you're one of the most popular writers on this website xx

You are very kind. Writing should be our pleasure. When writing is competition. It is no fun. Room f.. read more
spot on! I loved this John so much...we write because we have to...I know myself when the inspiration hits I have to write I dont have a choice, even if I am the only one who will ever read or understand it...I need to write it down...."we make the writer come alive again..." this is true all the poets great and small will never die as long as someone reads their words......"a silent life is an empty life" TRUTH!
the best thing about poetry for me is I can write about anything...anything at all...the world is wide open to me and to all of us...BRAVO BRAVO .... and thank you

Thank you Ellen. I agree with you. Writing and reading is my need also.
Very inspiring words. I've only been reading poetry a short time and mostly fellow WC members. It's been a pleasure and you are one of my faves.
