                                     Cold blooded lover

So pretty, so nice to look upon. I told you my dear Belinda. I could love you like my first love. My last love, but your eyes are dead. So dead.

Your worn and torn eyes showing me no love. Just accepting my company, just not to feel alone. You were a perfect beauty once. A long legged and tall lady who made me go wild with need and I found a burned-out heart and no love to be given.

I tried to make you laugh and I tried to make you dance to the good songs. I took you to beautiful places to learn new dream and hope.  I wanted you to need me. I learn.

Cold blooded lover are dead and bury in the heart. Sweet love had turn dirty with time and once hopeful lady wanted little and can give little back.

I went to you, years ago. I whispered dear Belinda. I love you so and love cannot wait for the cold blooded lover swimming in regret and pity.

I left her with final gift and broke my own heart. Beautiful lady broke my heart and she didn't care.

Another heart on the sleeve poem, Coyote.

I am familiar with this type of woman. A beauty who lives her life dwelling on the mistakes and losses of her past, incapable of ever seeing the light again and rediscovering her old, real self. They are tragic figures. Worthy of our pity, yet ones to be avoided, else we will shatter our own hearts by trying to restore their's.
Once again, you have written a piece that is soaked in the experiences of a lifetime. Words that tell of love and loss and heartbreak, written in an unpretentious way, wisdom for the masses and the inexperienced.
Fine writing, my friend. Well Done.

Many people give up too soon. This is sad. Thank you Doodley for reading and the comment.

This is a special kind of torment. Loving someone and never getting it in return. I think we all have felt this at one time or another.

This is so heartbreaking. A cold woman who's still beautiful, who still makes your heart warm but doesn't care. This write's beautiful in its own way; emotional, bittersweet, and poignant. Nice

How utterly heartbreaking, yet...describes so many cold blooded hearts of certain men and women...

Love the emotions in this one.

It is sad. Most of us played the cold blooded lover. Thank you Alisa for reading and the comment.

Played or were played by? Sadly, I can relate to the second part of that question...😞

There will always be people like this; only seeking comfort in company but no love. It would have been nicer and less painful if she had told you before. Maybe she had reasons too, who knows. I like the term cold-blooded lover it matches and reads nice. Overall an emotional piece with a sort of whimsical flow.

Been there, John. When you love someone so deeply and they do not meet the passion. Well ... few things are so painful. A poignant write, my friend:)

It's so hard to deal with someone who's shut down . . . wondering whether to stay, trying to ignite something within, then finally deciding it's better to just go & leave her to the coldness in her heart. Your description of all this is written so clearly & the story is so recognizable, anyone would remember a time when this has been the case. Great story.

beauty isn't enough for love to live on...and the eyes tell the truth...when they are dead, the emotions are gone.

and love cannot be resurrected only by one side of the equation.

i could feel the despair of her but also the despair of the speaker not being able to revive the love that once had a chance.

I agree my friend.
I think this is a very real thing for many people. Time beats us up. Our past beats us up.
And the missed opportunities, what we could have been really eats at us until we feel numb.
It's lousy being on the receiving end of a cold lover.
