The memory of you, coffee and I.

The memory of you, coffee and I.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Just words.

"

The memory of you, coffee and I.

The smell of coffee, ancient coffee shops  and you.

Blessed memories upon on old heart and mind.

Once, you were my only fan.

I wrote a 100,000 words for you.

You were my Beatrice and my savior.

Do you think of me?

The shadows and the mirrors of life take me to you often.

One day. I will find you again.

Just the smell of coffee, the ancient coffee shop and to fall into

your eyes once more.

Thank you for having love and concern for a long soul once.

this is sad to me. i think we all have that one place, one "person" we still go back in memory to, because of the way they affected our lives and our outcomes. what a comfort, what a joy- and you have to wonder why your lives ran parallel to each other rather than intertwined. lovely poem..

Ah, melancholy mixed with sweet memories. I often wonder if those I loved long ago remember me. Sometimes, memories fade and we wonder if it was even real. You capture all of this so well in your piece. I love how you use something as simple as enjoying a cup of coffee to convey your message. This is well written and equally well crafted.

I'd like to say "let go", but I'm really not entitled. Instead I'll say "enjoy your coffee".
Do you by any chance speak Spanish?

ahhh...memories can be as bittersweet as the coffee that recalls them. Beatrice...Dante's or Benedicks? I'd like to believe the reference is to Dante's guiding light. Everyone should have one.
Funny how we have people who affect our lives so much that even when they are gone, we still write to them and they keep coming back to the surface of our consciousness. Thoughtful poem. J

I love the snippets. I see a broken memory, pieced together in a beautiful mosaic. I smell the roasting coffee beans, I see the antiques, I feel the piercing stare of an old muse that once set my heart aflame. And I feel white embers where she once burned strong. Thank you for sharing a piece of you. You've made delightful poetry out of it.
