The sparkles in your eyes

The sparkles in your eyes

A Poem by Coyote Poetry

Old memories and places.

                 The sparkles in your eyes

I remember when the sparkles in your eyes could light up the world around you.

I remember how badly I wanted you. How I twisted my world backward just for
a few moments of your time.

And now, my heart had learn. Real love is more precious than diamonds and gold. Hidden dreams and hidden places cannot be removed from the mind and heart.

Now you only smile rarely and find peace when sleep appeared. You swim in sweet dreams and find your beautiful smile in made-up fairy tales.

Maybe your life wasn't so tough, but you were tender and your heart easily broken.

And me, I was after another conquest, another heart to add to my ego.

But you still won. I go back to you in my thoughts and dreams.
I wished I held on and didn't teach you the sorrow of the goodbye.

In sweet dreams I didn't leave you crying, but laughing.  Your beautiful brown eyes filled
with hope and joy. Now I regret not being able to see the sparkles in your eyes.

You were my brightest star and I promise to stay with you forever. To protect and love you.

I learn the liar's prayers become part of you. Twisted words leave you alone to swim
in the pain caused by stealing emotion and love.

I did cry for you. I saw that you never loved life the same after I stole all your dreams.
And the funny part is. I realized I lost my dream also.

Perhaps I lost them when I left you alone in your bed to conquer another young woman?

Leaving you with my heart.

Lovely poem on lost love through one's own actions. I like the following lines:

Sometimes we hurt the ones we love the most.Becoming comfortable in our relationships and sure they will always be there no matter how bad we behave.Discontent as time passes wanting more than they can give .You have portrayed this so well it touched my heart :)

You are welcome.
I find myself speechless as in there is nothing I can say here. There is only a feeling as a witness to what is spoken.
My Soul -Self has her head bent, as somehow a witness to these words.
Somehow a knowing that they will be heard and recognized. I suppose the knowing that every word we speak is an uttered command to our universe.
A somehow knowing that all will be well.
Thoughts spoken with the full heart and emotion will vibrate and make it''s peace on old battled ground.
I don't think we have to directly tell that person. I think somehow the vibrations of it finds it's way in one way or another.
I believe your heart, knew that, when you wrote it.
This might be a good example of the saying: "Love Finds A Way"

~ True, a words of wisdom for me to be learned. I feel sad upon reading this piece, there are some things that are too hard to repair, yet surely it will heal over time. This old piece, re-written, it is like reading a piece in your journal. A piece of your dream that was given long time ago, the thing that you’ve lost. Perhaps over time those wounds that you’ve left behind had healed, yet we never know until you’ve seen it firsthand. All in all it’s a beautiful piece, a confessional tone, with a very moving intent. Very nice!
