No guns in our schools

No guns in our schools

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Thoughts and words about guns. Old wise President said. "When fear take over a country. Freedom will be lost."

"

No guns in our schools.

No guns in our school.

A new year is here

Time to make resolutions and wishes.

My fourth child will graduate next year.

No security guards with guns in their schools.

USA is still the land of the free and the brave.

I fought for freedom. I have no fear of going to work and living in my world.

I believe we cannot be govern by fear. If fear control our world. We have nothing left.

Children must be able to dream and never allow fear to control their thoughts and their world.

If we allow fear to overtake us. Security men with guns roaming our schools. We allowed terror to overtake us.

Be logical. Use proper security and insure only people who need to be are allowed in the schools.

First we will have security guards. Then high fences and then barb wire. Schools are not prison camps or war zones.

What are we teaching our children? Don’t listen to NRA foolish voices. Laws are needed for automatic weapons. Most big cities have written laws in effect for many years.

There is no perfect system. It is a hard world for many. USA need opportunity and help for the people in need. When a child cried out for help. Someone need to be there. Parent must show concern and the school system at all levels need to be alert to possible problems.

                    Let's pray

Let’s pray.

Let’s use logic and wisdom.

Foolish men need to be quiet.

Children need to celebrate each new day.

We cannot live in fear. This is the USA.

Home of 300 million people.

Terror cannot control us. Teach the children well. They are the future. Show them the world is good and the possibilities are unlimited.

A new year is coming. I pray for peace. All our Soldiers on the USA soil.

I pray the new wars are on sickness and starvation in our world.

I hope and pray for peace in the Middle East.

I pray every child had a safe place to rest and food to eat.

Children are the future. They must be fearless.

It is time for forgiveness, love and healing. Not a lot of time left if we seek war and violence.

Let the children sing, dance and dream in our world.

When we need a armed security guard in our school. We allowed fear to kill the desire of freedom and hope.

Author's Note

Coyote Poetry
Children must be able to dream. Live a life with no fear. Too many people who will profit voices are loud and strong. Time for real U.S people to stand strong. World is a dangerous place. But can allow fear to direct us. Life is to be lived and celebrated.

My take? Nobody needs assault weapons but soldiers and police. To give them the edge on bad guys or the enemy. A thirty round magazine is big enough for anyone to protect their home or for target practice. But aside from those laws we need personal responsibility. When your firearm is not in use it should be in a lock box, a gun safe or at the very least, have a locking trigger guard on it or the firing pin removed. These are simple measures to promote gun safety. Remember, the guns used in the recent school shooting did not BELONG to the shooter...they belonged to his mother whom he murdered and STOLE the guns from. We need to store ammunition separate from our firearms as well in locked cabinets or safes. These small things are links in a chain...they do not seem important by themselves but together they will be of a great help in thwarting criminals, psychopaths and would be killers from gun violence. I own guns and I practice these steps. It's simple common sense. I do believe in the right to keep and bear arms but I believe that right should be tempered with common sense and responsibility.

It seems to me children today are not being left with much of anything but dreams that can never be. A very sad situation indeed. Such a distressed world only leads to illnesses of all sorts. We need to treat the cause, not the symptom like the medical profession does. A very powerful write...let's not give up hope that your vision can never be.

Excellent poem and write. After the NDAA was passed where the president can pick up anyone and lock them away without a trail because there is the suspicion of that person being a terrorist and lock them away for as long as the president wants and not even telling the family where they are the world became a much scarier place for me. The constitutions is just about dead and people are loosing all hope so what happens? Violence. The government now sees the people as the enemy and I believe this is true all over the world. Its become a dark dark world out there. I really like what you wrote.

Scrolling over the other reviews( I always want to write the longest one) I noticed I'll have some trouble with my task. There is little to say about this piece because so much is said inside. When making a list of three things, though, I suggest putting a comma before the and. I know that is a long-lasting and unresolved debate in the grammatical world but I still suggest it. It looks silly without it. Anyhow, that isn't the point. I agree with this piece. The fact of the matter is that school already feels sort of like prison due to all the administrators walking around and the fact that after the Newtown incident all the doors have been kept locked. We need to be able to ensure safety but not in an irrational manner. Your just scaring us even more. My generation is the future. Another set of true words. I'm thirteen(just turned the age) and agree with the twelve-year-old who commented below. However, I believe that higher regards towards gun safety and making it harder to get them and there licenses should be a world wide idea. Anyhow, nice write. I mostly agree with you although I'm to young (or so they say) to actually have a true opinion on these matters. Back to the future (lol that's a movie) matter. My generation is lazy! I look around my classroom and realize that my classmates will be future presidents, bank owners, business creators, and at least one will have and use a million or trillion dollar idea. But we have far to come are even farther in the future to go. We have yet to know who will do what and how. Even if they'll stop playing video games. I wish they would, kills brain cells and provokes bad and dangerous thoughts. Thanks for listening to my rant! nicely penned!
Best regards,
Dell

I have no clue what the answer to this age old question is, guns will always end up in the hands of the enemy, be that school, war, gangs, or elsewhere. We need to be more vigilant in our schools for the youth that are screaming out in pain, that is where the problem lies to begin with. All it takes is a little extra effort to not be so damn apathetic and look the other way when someone is in dire straits. Some really good points in your words. There is a belief the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun, I'm hoping we can educate people to see that we can prevent our children from falling into that trap to begin with. Well said Coyote.

Bush was an idiot, that's the most insane statement he ever made, well, almost.
My take, and hey, I'm only twelve, but I believe that if you outlaw guns, only the outlaws will have guns. Think about it, if you're guns aren't registered (in which I know many people out there have unregistered guns), the government won't know to take them. They can search our houses, cars, entire properties, but Canada will sell them. Mexico will sell them. We will forever have access to weapons. It's a useless cause.
But as for the poem, very good. I liked it. I too believe that children shouldn't have the idea of just war in their minds. It's not what the old American dream was.

And is that you in those pictures? If so, thank you for guarding our country. My father is a Marine Corps veteran. Thank you very much to keeping me and my little sister safe.

Thank you for the comment. You have wisdom already.
Nicely stated. I don't completely agree, but I think this is an honest write from a soldier's point of view--which I respect so much. Merry Christmas brother!

I should have guessed that an ex.military man who's gone through war would know the terror of it and the horror of what weapons can do.

You always, always write with your heart and mind working in unison and this post is no exception to your everlasting display of respect, tolerance and common logic. Wisdom must be your middle name, John!

' Let’s pray. Let’s use logic and wisdom. Foolish men need to be quiet. '

Wishing you and your family the best of everything through the Holidays and ever into the future.
