Too late for forgiveness

Too late for forgiveness

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

A new poem finally. A sad one. If you feel death is more important then life. Please call me. Maybe I can help.

"

 Too late for forgiveness.

Second brother put into the cold earth.
Death by their own hands.
Left many to swim in bad decisions and not enough kind words.

The things I believed in.
Became useless and not fruitful anymore.
Words said without thoughts or kindness.
Left my soul in blackness.
I wished too late to take back words that degrade a life of a brother.

I learn the important things we must believe are  simple and plain.
I learn we must rise and fall. Cry and laugh. Beg and demand.

I chisel my brother names into a old Oak tree.
I asked the Spirit of life and death to forgive me for being a b*****d instead of a friend.
Silence and loneliness left me be to the solitude of pen and paper.

I learn we are all mortals.
Too blind to see beyond our own glory.
Till names of the dead are carved in your chest.

Today I remember two strong boys who showed no fear.
The hidden demons no-one saw.
Took them to a rope and no goodbye.

Their death made me more gentle in action and in words.
The dream of wealth became less needed.

Now I offer a open door to friends and family.
I will listen to someone who is struggling and try to help.
I don't believe you can be forgiven.

Lonely graves of two scared boys are permanent scars on a mind and heart.
No-one cared that they saw death more sweet then life.

I wished I'd listen to a wise grandfather.
"Nothing good to say. Say nothing. Negative words and actions can
caused permanent damage."

Better to be a friend then be standing by a casket saying a final goodbye.

When I read your stuff a lot of it hits home, Coyote. That last part does so more than anything else. A lost two good friends I served with because their cries for help were being ignored. I could have helped them but I didn't and now their gone. Sometimes all it takes is for someone to listen. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.

We must be careful what we say to a loved one for we never know when it will be our last words to them. Another common mistake made by man constantly.

this has got a very nice and strong message in it.and it's clearly depicted in your grandfather's lines...it highlights the power of words.by sing this we can either gain anyone's love or can even gain hatred.it something which can never be taken back..
i liked the flow of the poem.it's really touching.um.i'm sorry.there were some typos.don't mind if i point them
"I learn the important things we must believe are simple and plain.".i didn't get this line,sorry....and there were one two typos.like it should be "learnt" there..
" a old Oak tree"..it's an......" me be to"=.left me to be to the solicitude..
but it's is a great piece of poem containing the important message
which everyone should follow in their life.nice work!

It is only after you lose someone that you realize the true worth of them. A very emotional poem. The last line is really touching. This poem reflects your sentiments in an amazing way. Seems like you have been a lot through your life. Kudos to you, it has only made you stronger. The wise message that you portray through this poem that a conversation can save a life is truly appreciable.

i dont think that there would be a human being who is not related to this. death is the clear fact which we know that it exists, we see it happens everyday to others but as if we are not included into it..as if we will never die!
unfortunately we remember death only when it takes away someone close to us, we feel sad for some specific time then we start to forget and live our life as if nothing happened because sorrow is born big and then it gets smaller and smaller until it may vanish..it is strange that at this time of the year i have my own sad memories as well since my father died in November...i think death and sorrow gathers all nations and races...
very nice poem although it is really sad
thank you for sharing

Well written, as ever, losing dear ones is difficult, (I cannot really give more words to it) . Thank you for sharing.

This was really touching and I could feel your heartbreak through your words. You hold a lot of wisdom, which is apparent in your writing. This inspires a lot of thought. Fantastic poem.

This is so sad and I'm sorry for your loss. I've recently had a loss in my life but of natural causes. This is a great poem - yet was heart wrenching for me to read bec/I've battled the suicidal thoughts and attempts for years. Thanking you for shedding light on how the ones you leave behind feel. Has really opened my eyes to how my loved ones probably felt knowing what I had done and left me thinking endless thoughts.

I can't think of any way to word what I'm feeling right now. In fact, I don't really want to give words to feelings as strong as these. All I can really say is that this poem is so heart wrenchingly beautiful, so eloquent and longing for a chance to fix our mistakes that I was left wordless. I can't thank you enough for sharing such an intimate part of yourself with complete strangers, nor can I sufficiently thank you for the change this has brought to my heart.
