As days go by, what will I remember?
Soft and shallow goals,
Of wishes unfulfilled?
Or kind and gentle hands,
Family, friend, and kin.
Something that popped into my head after reading this.
You make valid points. Family, the ones you choose to have and the ones that despite being thrust upon you, fill your heart are the true joys in life. Time wears away all things. Only through family does anything worthwhile ever last.
I enjoyed this. I especially liked the format in which it was written. Somehow it seemed to transcribe the emotion, as if tracing the path the thoughts make through our mind. Thank you so much for sharing this, it speaks well of what is valuable in life, what should be cherished, and what truly matters when we reach our end.
My friend, you have cracked the expression 'a picture is worth a 1000 words' wide open. A touching entry revealing the dynamic, if not downright ironic, outlook on humanity desire to be loved vs. its desire to wage war against itself. I can think of a dozen Thin Red Line references, but it's really too long a movie.
Just know that you've touched the humanist in me :-)
Coyote your words, your work, moves me. I love how you related your work to you life, and the picture are always a joy to looking at. Keep up the most fantastic work.
This poem says so many true things " Kindness and love is all we have left in the end."
Sometimes when I read your stuff. I get mad at myself cause I know I am more or less a rag tag bum when it comes to my scribbles. Your a master thou, i tip my hat to a mechanic
Deep meditation is wonderful. I've always imagined you having a box of old photographs next to your computer, and while you're writing you go through it to find what imaged is burned into thoughts as you write. You write such wonderful literature. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I lost someone near to me, dear to me, that I shall always remember, the loss of Love, not the heartache, we all get over that, but the realisation that something very precious has gone and can never be replaced......a simple poem with so much meaning wrapped up in so few words.
A Poet and writer who love to read and write.
My pleasure is reading about the bad and good in a life.
Also to honor the Poets/Writers of the past by reading their words.
Remember .. more..
