The system's effect

The system's effect

A Poem by C.Symister

I am young on the outside, but old on the inside

This system has aged my youthful pride

I am held inside to do calculations

Due to some man’s machinations

This restricts myself, cages me

And stills my abilities even to see

Now there are only black and white, no more hues

Those invisible ones that fight the blues

I wish to regain my precious colour

But I must wait for the endless summer

So I’ll lie dormant ever grayed

Never to be perturbed nor decayed

Although I hibernate, hiding life without a trace

I will sleep deeply frozen with a smile on my face
