A trip to the memory world

A trip to the memory world

It was a day like any other. Boring job, grey world. Nothing to be glad of. I arrived at 1 o’clock. Couldn’t shower. My body was so tired. I tried to get up but I fell asleep quickly. When I opened my eyes, I was floating in the air. I didn’t have time to look down at the beautiful city glowing. I screamed and shouted in fear but I heard a voice. A friendly one.

“If you think happy thoughts you will float. If you think sad thoughts you will fall.” said the voice.

I turned around and saw a little boy. Nothing else, not evil, just a kind spirit.

“Who are you? Why am I floating?” I questioned.

“I am here to take you to the ‘Memory World’ where all memories of one person gather. Whether you forget it or not, it is all there.” The boy explained.

The boy flew away. I couldn’t just stay where I was. So I followed. Where the boy stopped was a beautiful and such an amazing place! It had plants that I haven’t seen and little creatures like fairies walking around. I didn’t mean to, but I exclaimed.

“Wow”

“Isn’t it cool? This is your ‘Memory world’ . I will tour you now.” said the boy chuckling.

The first place was the place that little people lived. They were all the things that I wanted. The second place was the place of boxes. It was designed in fancy shapes. They were all the things that I’ve once dreamed and haven’t succeeded. In the middle, there was a very big box. The boy asked me to listen to the box. So I listened.

“I want to draw really hard and become a famous artist!” The box shouted.

My face became dark. The only thing that I wanted to do was drawing. I could do it because my parents didn’t want me to. Then, the little boy said “I have one more place that I want to show you.”

The little boy walked into the room that was filled with frames with pictures. She found every piece of drawing that she had drawn. All the frames were filled. Except one.

“Why is this empty?” I asked

“Because it is your dream. That frame is for your dreams. You didn’t get to act on your dreams. That is why it is empty.” the boy answered.

“I am not following my dreams. A dream and real life are different. I need to live my life not trying to reach my dreams. I have a life to live.” I said

“I didn’t say reach your dreams.” replied the little boy.

“Then why did you take me here?” I half shouted and questioned.

“I just wanted to tell you one thing. It is not your fault you can do it. I lived harder than anyone else. I am proud.” The little boy talked to me.

Suddenly, thick tears fell down my face. I just wanted to hear one word, ‘I lived hard.’ I lived my whole life to hear one word. I knew I can’t give up my job or take a new start. However I thought that I could do anything.

Then, I woke up. It was a dream. I mean, I knew it was a dream. A voice talked in my head.

“We are always on your side. Do what you want.”

I jumped up and got ready for my job. Normally I would have been tired and swearing to work. However, today, I thought I could do everything.
