A Rainy DayA Poem by Breezy
Everything's soaked to the bone.
Raindrops slip off my hat's brim And trickle down my chin. I can hardly see my hand, Which stretches out in front, Helping to guide as I stumble along. The thunder rumbles and roars And here I stand, absolutely frozen to the core. Lightning came first, flashing across the sky, But I hardly notice as I hurry home to dry. As I dash through the front door, I thank God for the thunders roar, For the rain that pours, And for the lightning that soars. I dry off quick and go to the fire. Here I sit, wrapped up and tired. I grab a book and begin to read Of dragons, and knights, and great big decrees! My head nods as I begin to doze, Not thinking of my worries, nor my woes. Instead I dream of the glorious day That God brought rain my way.
