The man with the brief caseA Poem by CassandraHow do we know what lies beneath the formal skin of the strangers we call our friends?
The man with the brief case,
Cool breath rasps, Lingering mist overlooks grim anticipation, Lips chapped with exhaustion and frayed anxiety, Shape a morbid frown, Shuffling footsteps riddled with a curse, Of a sure downward spiral, His brief case trembles concealing terrible terrors, tragic troubles, Sickening guilt overwhelms the coward lying dormant within, Awakening a dark rumble of determination, Biting at his life force, Snapping away at his solemn soul, For the man with the brief case harbors a secret; Unlike many others, Unique and bursting with sinister darkness, Not avid affairs, Not feverous fears, But murder lies deep within his soul. Those who dare to whisper, would say he was incapable of handling the dire consequences that fold underneath his ploys, Others claim he was simply racked with remorse of his indulgent horrors, However, few would realize the disturbing reality of the disturbed. The man with the brief case, Stepped off the pier into the cleansing sea to wash away his woes- The brief case was filled with stones.
