Today is my friend Sky's birthday. Unfortunately she passed away in January due to complications from surgery. She was 13. Miss you!

You had the smile

That could light up a city

For ten years.

You had the eyes

Of the sweetest chestnuts.

And although you're not here

Anymore,

I still remember your laugh.

Months have passed,

The tears have stopped,

And sometimes I even smile

When I think of you.

Because I know you are happy,

And I know that you're safe.

So spread your wings,

And we'll watch you fly

With all of the grace in you.

I'll see you someday

Sooner than later,

And we'll laugh

About everything.

All of the silly things

We have in our hearts.

So cheers to our memories,

And goodbye for now.
