A Note For My Loved Ones

These tears will not stop flowing,

Until the final breathe recedes.

You'll find me in the paper tomorrow,

But you'll have to know where to look.

I hope you understand this was my decision,

And above all else,

I love you.

 

I always will, but right now

I must go.

I want you to have a great life,

And think of me from time to time.

Even when all hope is lost,

I want to be the angel that

Crosses your mind.

My decision has nothing to do with you.

You were always the light in my life,

And I hope that in the end you'll be happy.

I promise you it'll be painless for me.

It willl be a wave of relief,

No worries,

No dreams,

No sadness.

 

I want you to know,

That when I breathe for the last time

I'll be thinking of you,

I'll be thinking of everything you mean to me,

And all the happiness you have given me.

I'm sorry it wasn't enough,

And I'm sorry to put you through this.

But I want to know what it's like.

I want to feel free,

Even if this is the price.

 

I'll be seeing you soon,

We'll meet on a cloud.

Just like our favorite song says.

We'll be laughing out loud,

We'll be laughing with everyone we see.

I hope the next time I see you,

Wow, it touches deep. I know of someone who's committed suicide, and it touches that soft spot on my heart. I know of people who have thought of committing the act, but didn't have the strength. And I also know of many people who cut themselves, this poem highlights them. Amazingly beautiful. It's going in my favorites. (:

Oh, this was a beautiful poem filled with sadness yet a little touch of hope. I've never listened to Neutral Milk Hotel, but I have heard of them (thank the book Will Grayson, Will Grayson for that) and I think I might check them out now.
