Ode to Summer

Ode to Summer

A Poem by Cassandra Vasiliu

A cool gentle zephyr stokes

Long soft meadows

Where yellow dandelions mellow

Their white seeds twirling and dancing

To far off lands

Lazy flowers awaken, blooming late"

Dainty colorful common"

Wizened tree bear ripe juicy fruits

Picked by children with scratched knees

And bruised arms and beaming faces

Oh Summer you are mild

Caressing those who bask in your warmth

And take joys in your gifts
