Just FriendsA Poem by Cass MorganYou walk up to me With that easy grin I freeze and you say ''How have you been?'' One simple question Makes my heart race I stutter and I falter I go red in the face You're smiling and you're talking Like you don't even see Like you don't even notice I go weaker at the knees I manage to respond I nod a quick 'okay' You're blind to all those shy looks I'm sending your way The talk is over and You see another friend You bid me sweet goodbye Our moment is at end At night I cannot sleep As I lie in bed I lie and think of everything That you and I have said And even if you don't know All I feel for you I am content with friendship And I will make it do
