Broken Ground

Broken Ground

A Poem by Cass Morgan
"

Poem about the situation the world is in now.

"
Waves crash on the broken shore
Bringing back haunting memories
Childhood dreams once there,
Vanishing, carried by the sea-breeze

Hope vanished, love buried deep
Clouds carry raindrops like a teardrop,
Beautified and brought into nature
Do they ever think and stop?

Beasts aren't as cruel as man
Mankind deformed and defeated
Crashes and storms as lightning flashes
The broken camera of one who created

Gunshots, fires, men in green and brown
Camouflaged not only their bodies, but also souls
Dirt-stained souls, filled with evil
Leaving hearts behind, covered in holes

Beloved ones ripped away from home
Homes beaten to the blood-stained ground
Tell me now, if you can find the answer
Where in this world is love to be found?

Author's Note

Cass Morgan
This is my first attempt at a poem, please go easy on me and I need a lot of advice!
Flow and rhythm isn't great, but I focused more on my feelings and the message I wanted to convey than the actual symmetry. Thank you for reading!

Well written,
You have done far better than some good poets. If you continue like this you will do awesome.
I will be looking forward to read your other writings soon.

I think you did a very good job, as you have said it's your first try at poems so I think you did far greater than a reader could expect from a debutant... As for the poem it really shows the position of this modern world, a world that has been broken so many ways, with wars destruction everywhere... There is nothing left as love, all the happiness lost in a far away place...

Trust me you do have a lovely and honest view about this world and your poem says it perfectly... I hope you will keep on trying your hand at poetry...

Sincerely
Dhiman

I would have never thought this was your first poem. You have done extremely well! I can imagine being inside your poem and experiencing what is going on. The sadness and anguish is quite intense. You have a great talent!
