UnbeautifulA Poem by CassieA poem I wrote for my Transgender friendsOne of those days, where you just Don’t feel beautiful One of those days, when your eyes Seem to deceive you And people love, to criticize you And mock your very existence As a human being And your ears are bleeding From all the hatred
But can you stop the hate? Avoid the shame? One of those nights, where you just Cry yourself to sleep And you feel weak One of those nights, when your brain Is wide awake, but your body Feels paralyzed As if you are under water In an ice cube Freezing to death And your blood turns cold Inside your veins And your tears are cutting your skin On the face you want to be pretty
Can you cease the violence? Can you stop the discrimination? We are one Nation, but ever so apart; People are bullied for being different And it breaks my f*****g heart
Why do they stare? Why don’t they care? Why can’t they see What they are doing To your confidence? Your self-esteem?
They’re crushing your dreams One step at a time But you can’t let them win Can’t let them get to you Because no matter what you are No matter what you want to be Your heart is gold And you are beautiful © 2014 CassieFeatured Review
