The Wet Road of Alone

If you were ever tossed around by someone, you know what I'm talking about.

Roaming around, no place to be
Lost with no purpose to my being
Keeping my emotions to myself
Not a bother to anyone

Walking from spot to spot
Always kicked out because I don't belong
My hoodie hides me from the disappointed faces
As I walk down the wet road of alone

No one wants to be with a loser like me
Taken in because of the promise that's in me
Soon left out to dry
Once I am of no use anymore

Smacked around, kicked in the gut
Pushed around in someone else's world
Thrown away back into the wet road of alone
Tripping on another person's idea of me

I found this very easy to relate to. Everyone feels this way at some point, but others are on that "road" most of the time. Silence is gold and being alone shouldn't always be labeled as being a loser. A lot of people are happiest in solitude. A lot can be discovered about yourself. If people are always with others or trying to be like them, they can never ever be their own person. Good read :)

I absolutely understand you here!!! The way the world sees us too often changes us into what they see, or makes us even worse. We can't let the way the world thinks of us hurt us though, we must remember that we are people, and no one else knows the reasons we do what we do, so their judgment doesn't matter. Beautiful piece!!!! The pain is so evident, it strangely adds to be beauty of the poem.
