Unspoken

My lips moved

Said nothing at all

Fingers reached

Yet never left their place

By my side

And I looked without focus

Wishing for a place to hide

 

On the beach

Under one sliver

Moon sky

Where sea met sand

In slow caress

Soft swish

My thoughts receding with the tide

 

Only to come back

Fear for all I lack

Wanting to know why

 

But you were gone

Before the next cool water kiss

Could reach land
