Material Girls

Material Girls

A Poem by Caseypowers

Two of three girls

At the table near me

Keep turning to look

And the thought crosses

My mind

Just what do they think they are

Looking at?

What is the matter

Girly girls

Got a problem

You can’t fix?

Jealous?

You glared at the redhead

Walking by

With your hateful stare.

She had men with her

While you sit alone

With your cold eyes

And I too am alone and

Just not feeling it so

Slide those eyes away

Except they slide their

Chairs back instead

Now the table sits empty

Like them
