Unicorns

Unicorns

A Poem by Casanova
"

Fantasy

"

I came to the mountains alone

to find my inner child

to walk the path of kings

before their hearts turned wild

Past ancient markings on rocks

a still pond I see,

I went to take a closer look

but found the Sea of Tranquility

Black ink kissed my mind

time was no more,

till like Lazarus I awoke

beside an ancient shore

I looked at a new vision

my eye fell upon a steed,

logic told me I must be mad

upon golden apples it did feed

Preserve it on film I would

make a million overnight,

but I felt it better to be left alone

and my soul felt that it was right

Unicorns came and surrounded me

before sleep took me away,

when I awoke later

it was the next day

Left around my body in a circle

were beautiful flowers I could see,

hundreds of hoof prints in the sand

were left as a sign to me

Shall I tell you where I was?

some things are best left untold,

so a weary soul one day will find

a shelter of peace, of unicorn gold

You can find such a place if you like

the Sea of Tranquility isn't very far,

where deep sleep kisses your Muse

and Unicorns dance upon a star
