Just a series of questions,, the start of something longer I think. Let me know what you think.
Is dark merely an absence of light?
Or is light the shadow of energy consumption cast upon dark?
Is dark the host to matter in condensed form needed to create light?
Therefore, is dark a must and did it pre exist light?
Is dark the fabric and thread of all existence?
Is solid matter the coming together of "all" creating the abyss and nothingness of dark like a vacuum?
Is this when solid matter turned to life and began to realize shape, difference and distance?
Was this the birth to the awareness of existence?
Did life then see its reflection in its separation and symptom of counter existence?
It was dark before day. And God said. "Let there be light." The sun (light) separated the day from night (darkness). Now, spiritually speaking, I believe a part of us had always existed through the thoughts of our creator. In spirit or our consciousness, we always have been connected to our creator (mine is God) because we existed, in thought, before we ever came to be a physical being.
Its a lot like writing. Its starts with a thought, gets written out (physical substance), but still we need light to read it. Our thoughts would not live in the dark, they would just die out into nothingness. From Gods thoughts to our physical beings, its light that make all that is around us more real, more alive but God already knew that. God's the Master mind to all we have in our existence, Its us that have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to bringing our thoughts from nothingness (the dark) to something that is real in the light.
--- Is dark merely an absence of light?---
The full picture, Matthew, is so much greater than the comparison between light and darkness, both physically and spiritually.
I hope you find the answers you're looking for, Matt.

I don't have the answers to these questions but I like that you are asking them, exploring and questioning is a good thing. There are no answers but it's fun to consider and provoke others to think too.
questions without answers are always the appealing ones aren't they? well darkness did come before the light, that's how it always is. Darkness will always come before the light and i see that as the light being hope. we all have our dark moments Matt, its the way of life; its when the light shines on us that fills us with hope.
Darkness cannot exist without the light and vice a versa. they both co exist to keep the greater good in balance. well done writing this it really makes the reader think. another great write my love, i really enjoyed it! :)
some very thought provoking questions you're asking....to me, there has to have been the darkness before there is the light...for without the darkness, the light would not show the beauty of everything around us.
a good write, matt.

Here darkness seems a greater reality than light! Dark must have pre existed light as God said let there be light to dispel darkness...just a thought..It set me thinking.
Matttttt! You know the thing about asking a person a question? Well its that they are going to answer it in the manner in which they were taught and they were taught by someone and they too and so on and so forth... So you know what I think? I think the bright spark that first came up with all the answers from some place my friend.. And you know what? I think the answers are all innate.. they might not be what the next person believes but who cares =D
