So Often Taken

So Often Taken

A Poem by Carson Kramer

Her stone, jeweled heart.
Her hardened ears.
Her guarded gaze.
Her eyes for the world.
Her will for justice.
Her fear of iniquity.
Her desires never match the will.
Of others who would take from her
Without replacing.
Or to pay forward what is
So often taken.
She still loves this world.
Please take care to see that
She continues.
She will replace that which she takes.
She will harbor the plighted.
She will safeguard the shattered.
And salve the wounded.
She sails these seas now alone.
Please harbor her.
I beg your harbor.
I implore your stillness
From her ever embattled soul.

About
You have come to the Nom de Plume, of the writer known as, Nipplegrinder. It was suggested that I would receive a more welcoming response, if I hadn't such a repulsive screen name. (Thank you, Lyn.) .. more..
