Permanent Nap

Permanent Nap

A Poem by Carson Kramer
"

**This piece contains themes of suicide**

"
The agent lie in waiting.
The ever watchful sniper.
The clandestine usurper.
The dissident interloper.
Thief of breath.

Lying in wait.
Stalking
Slinking
Consuming the mind.
Making false promises
with comforting
Ends.

Stand strong against it.
Take not that permanent nap.
Take yourself back

Stand against its gale.
Weather its chill.
Run from its fire.
Escape its will.

Run, then hide
Rest. Then breathe quietly.
Consume its darkness.
Drink it like wine.
Drink the darkness.
Then savor the taste.

Once tasted, darkness is pure
Bitter
Peer then, through the curtain.
And
Breathe

Through the curtain,
is the light.
Taste the light.
Lick the sun.
Hug the Earth.
Become undone.

Return to you
Become one.

About
You have come to the Nom de Plume, of the writer known as, Nipplegrinder. It was suggested that I would receive a more welcoming response, if I hadn't such a repulsive screen name. (Thank you, Lyn.) .. more..
