Light Knows Us

Light Knows Us

A Poem by Carson Kramer

The tilted moon
fronts ragged stars
The light takes its time.
Time to reach us,
its time to wash upon.
On our gills
On our light breathing lungs.
Upon, and into our eyes
as chasms of crystalline depths
The journey of light
to ground
and back to heavens as heat.
The silvery waves that dance.
Light leaves little to chance
that we see those waves.
Light knows us.
