One Song

One Song

A Poem by Carson Kramer

For prodded by fanciful delight
Did my skin pimple
And heart soar then race
And all from simple melody
A slice of soul offered
And consumed
The timbre of such skillful construction
A start stop staccato
Woven as silk on looms of passionate calling
Hearkened to revel in that chorus so sublime
The telling of a story
A yarn spun
So softly do the notes whisper
What lies in the message
That is conveyed
Wave of lilting utterance
Washes over
Nudging nostalgia forth
To tears are brought the attentive
And the vulnerable
Some wounds are healed
Others salted
By the words
I revisit the shores of this sea
Sometimes in my mind
This vast sea that pleasures me
And often you
Other times I must listen
Directly to its draw
The beauty of this

I enjoyed the measured pace of this. I like the repetition of sounds and most of the figurative language.

About
You have come to the Nom de Plume, of the writer known as, Nipplegrinder. It was suggested that I would receive a more welcoming response, if I hadn't such a repulsive screen name. (Thank you, Lyn.) .. more..
